the saga continues........

I can't use perfumed soap, so I use a fragrance free shampoo from superdrug as a shower gel and in a dispenser, it's what originally worked when she used to poop on the live pinks instead of eating them. So I'm going to try that first ad see what happens

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it, after all this time Lil ate f/t, the first time since the 21st of december!
I never got the chance to try the soap, I thawed a home-grown peach, being ultra-careful not to touch it at any time with my hands, which I had washed as usual with the fragrence-free product. I tipped it out of the bag into the water, changed the water a couple of times because I was having computer trouble, then picked it out of the water with tongs and dried it in a thick pad of tissues.
I was going to leave Lil in the dark, but was faffing around unable to find the feeding tub lid, and then this happened :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

I only know of one other person on this forum with a snake whose name is Conor... and after a rep she gave me I am fairly sure she got the idea from me anyway.

In case you didn't realise, I am the same person who posted on the cornsnake name thread ;)

OK, i was exaggerating when i said lots. . .

(i know i said this in the name post but i am sorry for being so cheeky) hope you forgive me. . .

ah, here's what snakes do when they get too fat for their skins! Lil must have just shed this minute, because her skin was still sensitive, she was not happy about the photo session and kept escaping.

Aww, bless!
I love the slight yellow/orange-ish she has on her side in the 2nd pic... so cute!

It's hard to get her colours to show, she has quite a lot of yellow now, pinks, peach, and best of all, some green tints now

Aww, can't see the moldy, err... green tint on the pics :grin01:

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's not mould! :grin01: I can see I'll have to try a daylight photo session to try to show my baby's getting green edges to her saddles! (or maybe get a felt-tip pen)

Are you sure it is not a rest of pinkie that stuck to her and has gone moldy and you think it is her colour? Or maybe she has gone past her sell by date?? :grin01:
Sorry, couldn't help that one :p

I hear Photoshop works wonder ;)

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another f/t down the hatch, good girl Lil :)

She's looking good and hearty. I'm glad all your efforts have paid off, and it's good to see her progress.

i've never replied to this blog, but i have read every word and like many, hung on the suspense and am overjoyed to hear that she is eating regularly for you know. i too have a problem feeder snow :) when i first got him he wouldn't eat a damn thing for me. tried everything except for lizard scenting and the puree thing ( :puke01: ). i got him as a 3 week old and the breeder had gotten 2 meals in him, so i think it was just stress from moving. after 5 weeks of no food i gave him back to the breeder to see if he could get him to feed. i was way too inexperienced to try force feeding and such so he said he would if it came to that. he got 3 more meals in him before giving him back. i then had to feed him live for almost a year. when he was big enough for fuzzies, i tried a f/t and he took it no hesitation! so now he eats f/t like a champ!
i wish you all the best, and your determination is just mind boggling! way to go lil!!!!!!!!!
