Trimmer, the little monkey is 8 grams this week, I'm not surprised the gain isn't as dramatic, because of the shed, and because she is a little livewire. She's so active she almost escaped when I weighed and fed her, she made a bid for freedom onto my dressing table :grin01:

Most probably when next litters are in at the end of the month, because I've just culled 1 litter of 5-day pinks wednesday and there were 2 more litters born yesterday that I need to grow on to fuzzy and hopper size. I'm thinking about another trio to keep up the production line.

The baby mice growing fast, so decided to give Lil a peach tonight, and finally saw what I've been waiting for since January, my baby eating like a champ

This is "Shoestring", my lavender baby who has never eaten voluntarily. I have been force feeding him since the first week of October 2006. I started with tail, moved up to pieces of pinks, and finally to small pinks. He is currently being fed three small pinkies every four days as I try to get some weight on him. It has only been in the past six weeks (since I started the three pinkie schedule) that he has noticeably grown. My feeding method is to pry his jaws open with a toothpick, then push the head of the small pinkie past his jaws. I hold his head between finger and thumb, so am able to feel the neck when the head is in far enough. I push the rest in with a blunt stainless steel rod normally used to insert body jewelry. Once he can close his mouth, he is very cooperative, quickly moving the mouse down and allowing me to feed him the others. I am hoping he will soon be big enough to feed normal sized pinks.

I saw it, and I'm not going to biff you! It's sort of embarrasing, but the whole point behind carrying this blog on is that it charts my desperation, the enormous amount of help and support I had from here and Lil's progress.
For Skooge I could have started a new thread, but as I already had this one I added her on. There are so many tips for poor feeders on here that it could just help. I'll try to get some new pics of Lil this week to show how huge she is now.

Excellent, I'm glad to hear Shoestring's growing. Please feel free to add updates on progress here, I had help from another forum where a corn was force-fed 2 years before it fed voluntarily, so there are other stubborn herpers out there!
