The weirdest place...

Now I know most of us have had our corns escape at SOME point. Just for fun, my question is -- what's the weirdest place (or way) that you have found them???

I actually had a hatchling escape once. I searched my bedroom with my daughters for what must have been hours. I even kept switching my light on in the middle of the night when I thought I heard things. I prepared my daughters for the fact that we may not find her until she passed (she was a problem feeder so setting out food would not have worked). The next morning while getting breakfast my girls started yelling "We found the girl snake!!!" I told them there was no way they found her, but I'd come look. And behold, there she was. She had made it out of her tub, down the shelf, out of my room, down the hallway, through the living room, through the playroom, around the corner, through the kitchen....and get this --- into the dishwasher.

I have no idea how she got in there as you would think it's water tight. Thank god I had not run it! She was in great condition with no ill effects.

That's pretty weird. There's a snake on here who made it through the washing machine with a load of clothes, Cornspot's Whirlpool.

i wouldnt say the weirdest place. Since i have not yet have my corn snakes brake out. (even though they are always trying) i did have a white rat snake brake out a few times. he didnt get to far. with my cat watching his every move. as i was gone one day. but the weirsest thing was is that i had not only a locked top on. but ducked taped all the sides. (since he wasnt the sweetest snake in the world i didnt like him out) And even a book on top. well after finding him face to face with my cat on top of the tank i had to undo all the tape and unlock the top to put in back in. still have no idea how he got out...

Maybe he was already out when you did your taping! ;)

when sammie escaped bout 6 months ago looked high and low for her... did all the recommended tricks of leaving food out and plastic bags so i could hear here but alas after two months i gave up and thought she must have got outside or something, but basically gave up hope of finding her, but a month later my neighbours were moving out and i had gone to bed that evenin as normal, woke up at around 1am to people screaming in the street and banging on my door... we found your snake we found your snake....

sammie was in their washing machine and as she had gone to put a load on sammie scared the life out of her.... but was funny to think how on earth she managed to get out of her viv, through the brick wall, through their house, into their kitchen, and got into their washing machine.

rest assured sammie is back at home and what a way to say goodbye to the neighbours lol
