Thermostat Temps

tstephe3

Wanna pet my Snake?
I read through the FAQ's and I didn't see anything about the temp at the glass where the UTH is. I was measuring mine and as of yesterday I had the glass temps at 88. I will check it again today and hope it's still the same.

Is that in the right vicinity?

Yeah, thats where most people place the thermostat probes. That is where the temp should be mid to low 80s.

aorund 80 to 86 in the day (88 is just fine) and down to 75 to 80 aty night try not to let it drop below 75

Just to clarify, in a wooden viv, you'd have the stat inside the tank under the substrate but on top of the mat?

Cheers

and would you set it a bit higher than the recommended viv temp to allow for the drop while the stat's cooling?
