This is why we don't shop at our local reptile store!!

Can't believe this!! Makes me angry to see pictures like this. Worse than PetCo!! The pet store by me is great and has a large array of reptiles. Sorry you have to deal with this! :(

Thank you Lisa! I should look around a bit then, see if I find something. Usually I go to Petsmart, and they seem really on top of their reptile-habitats (and the other animals too). I won't ever set foot in that horrible shop again if I can help it /sigh

The petsmart i just bought my new baby snow corn had a guy that just did reptiles and their tanks were all clean and they only kept baby corns together. I am happy they aren't like the store your talking about because I wouldn't have wanted to buy a corn from there.

I agree. Our Petsmart here SEEMS to be very well organized, clean and hygienic. They have a lot of small cubesize tanks and keep all the snakes separate. And no matter who I ask in there they all seem either knowledgable or admit that they don't know anything about reptiles and get the person on shift who does. I'm happy with Petsmart here!

The PetSmart by me consistently has dry water dishes and temps over 90 in the corn snake enclosures. PetCo is similar. We don't spend money at those places anymore. :(

With the internet, and this forum featuring the very best corn breeders in the country, you no longer have to!!
(I have over 30 corns, 4 rosy boas, 1 goini king, and 4 pet ratties and haven't been to one of those places in over a year. And if it hadn't been an emergency I wouldn't have had to go at all!)

When we get another, it will be a snake with known genetics and a birthdate and a feeding and shed record and all of that, from a reputable breeder. I was so terrified Mal (PetCo hatchling) was going to die and I never want to repeat that experience.
