I have made this video so you can all see why we love Sid. Pines have so much personality and attitude, but once you get past the threats it's a big softy.
We got Sid because his previous owner became scared of him...I can't see why:rofl:
I hope you all enjoy this vid..
And you can all hear how I sound as well.

SID IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to get a Gopher snake in a few months and I can't wait!!
What an amazing snake you have Mike!!

(You both sound great, lol)
:D

That's excellent!!! I wanted to see him all the way out, though! I love how he opens his mouth when he's really angry.

I don't know if he's angry... He never does anything only shout.
If you just pick him up he gives up and goes quiet, thats why I kept touching him, he thinks you might get scared and go away.
I must admit though I do get apprehensive sometimes when he gets really heavy with me, and I think, is this the day he does bite me. But so far nothing has happened.
If he ever does bite me I'll post the pics.

Sid is cool! My girl Mercedes hissed like that when I got her. Now she only does it when she doesn't see you coming.

We tend to leave Sid alone so he does hiss.
He was an unwanted pet, the owners got scared of him...We went to a local pet store where he was and heard him out the back hissing (they wouldn't put him on display because he put people off)
As soon as we found out it was a pine out there we had to have him, and I'm glad we did.
Thats a nice pine you got,and I bet your glad you got him and her...

Well, I have a kind of big snake, Jake the Florida King, who is just sort of, he'd rather be sleeping in his hide than out with me. When he comes out, he does a lot of heavy sighing. I finally got bit by him a couple months ago when I had to replace his thermometer probe when he was blue. He grumpily moved to his cool hide, but had enough when I thought he'd want to be notified that the work was finished, so he could go home, and he tagged me. So from my 1100+ gram snake, I got what amounted to a couple pin pricks. It sure made me start shaking like a leaf, though!! So maybe if Sid does feel compelled to bite some day, it might be just a tiny warning bite like I got from Jake, not a full-fledged attack.

Wicked snake Mike, i love that attitude. Wow i thought my blue tounge hissed alot, but that pine knocks spots of the BTS. Love him.

Sid has dumb-struck, it never seems to make contact..(looks good if you got people around looking at the snakes though).
The worst that he has managed is, when he was in blue I picked him up and after he hissed like a nutter he musked like nothing I have ever seen before. It was like a bucket of water being thrown over me. And the smell made me put him straight back down...
First of all I thought something really serious had happened, Like Vet serious..

yeesh, I get this all the time with my Bulls, Gophers and Pine. All love to bicker with me.

Allison, wait till you get to own one. they can be grumpy and problematic at first, especially when they get big. But remember its all bluff.
Also make sure on what you get, Bulls might be illegal to own in your state. i know they are endangered. so you may not be able to get one of these.

But here is an angry Sonoran Gopher for you to see.

Thanks. We just love them. They are truely two of the nicest snakes we own. The only musking problem I have is with my MBK. And she is getting better.:spinner:

Thanks Tricksterpup, they are indeed illegal to keep here in Wisconsin but in a few months I'm moving out to Arizona so I'm waiting until then. The species has always fascinated me and I love their appearance and "attitude".

Oh, and yours is beautiful!! Thanks for showing me.
