ok this is the e-mail i have sent to them just now, very similar to the post i posted above with a few adjustments, here it is ~
hello there
now i would like to make an official complaint about the jollyes store in crews hill, Enfield, i was not sure who to send this to and this address was the only one i could find, if its not you who deals with complaints then please get back to me with a postal address or web address, thank you.
now i was completely and utterly disgraced with how the reptiles were being treated, my boyfriend had to drag me out of there sharpish before i blew a huge fuse right in the middle of the shop,
now i own snakes myself and the way the boas were being housed is not right, there was about 3 or 4 in one small viv with just a couple of hides and one water bowl, the 2 Burmese pythons are absolutely gorgeous! however they were both in small viv's only enough room to curl up, only on newspaper! didn't see no water bowl at all.
there was one milk snake (i think it was a milk snake, cannot remember now) that had only half shed, i said to my boyfriend that it needed a lot of TLC, soaked and eased off but the shop certainly would not be prepared for that!
the corn snakes, OMG! don't even get me started, not only was there about 12 in one small viv, but there was hatchlings with what looked to me, 2-4 year olds, i was like what the ???! its outrageous. for starters if one regurged, how would you know? if one pooped, how'd you know? if one was sick, they would all be sick. if one sheds, which one is it? and lastly cannibalism, it happens ya know? the hatchlings are at risk every day with the elder ones. also the hatchlings would be intimidated by the elder ones, not to mention stress, which then could lead to the snake refusing to eat, loosing a lot of weight or even death. even if they are only being kept together until there sold, what if there not sold for months? do they just keep them together? its just wrong, they are not thinking of the animals at all.
i did not see one clean viv, all had poop and bits of shed in them all, dusty substrate, well, the few viv's that did have substrate, the rest just had a few sheets of newspaper!
not to mention i did not see one temperature or humidity gauge in any of the viv's at all! i just thought what complete ass wipes! sorry for the language here but i was soo gonna blow my top but my boyfriend didn't want me too, i nearly cried, i did not expect it to be that bad!
well i would like the top head office's address, either postal or web, me, my boyfriend and family and friends are all gonna complain about this.
I'm sorry if I'm coming across as rude but these animals do not deserve to be treated this way, keeping reptiles is not as easy as everyone may think, they need a lot of care and attention. I'm sorry to say but i cannot stand people like them,
i got pictures of the BP's and corns on my phone camera but cannot get them off my phone so if you would like proof i can go back with my digital camera and then send you pictures of how they are being treated. if you do nothing about this matter and disregard this e-mail, i will go higher and i will get my point across somehow, either by the Internet or newspaper.
i would like to hear what your gonna do about this and hope that you contact me to let me know. hope to hear soon. thank you for your time.
regards,
Anny
let me know if i did the right thng or not please. thank you.
