Thanks! Sorry my big head had to be in the pic, but getting him to hold still for portraits is NOT easy, lol.

AWESOME looking snake! They had some babies for sale close by here, but I wasn't interested at the time. I certainly am NOW! LOL.

WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who needs an indigo if you can have that!!! What a beautiful animal!!!

Wow, that is one gorgeous snake. Is it called a Thunder and Lightning Snake? I've never seen or heard of one before, but that is one incredible animal.

Ahhh, thanks! I've heard of that name before, perhaps I should have googled the Latin name to find out more. It sure is a gorgeous snake though, and quite large I must say.
Yeah... they had LOTS of babies at a reptile specialty store here... I looked at them and I WAS a little interested, but another 9+ foot snake in the house is a big NO NO. LOL.

According to what I've read they can get 10-12 feet long and weigh 10 POUNDS... That amazes me. LOL.

Thanks for all the kind words. These truly are unique snakes to keep....they are the longest colubrids in the New World, with the largest specimen on record being over 14 feet!

What is its temperment like? I've heard about (and seen) some FEISTY and nervous ones. Yours looks rather calm and well behaved.

They can be very feisty and nervous snakes, especially imports or fresh WC.....mine is a very long term captive and is used to human interaction. He is very docile and easy to work with.

Heres some head shots of him....

WOW!!! He looks AMAZING. Now I wish I had given them a more thorough looking over. Perhaps next season.

Thanks for the info and pics!

A friend of mine has an adult female, so with a bit of luck I should be able to produce some babies in the not-so-distant future.
