Hey Gang -

Here are a coupla' pics from the Saturday night dinner after the Tinley show.

Pictured around the table from left to right are Christina and Russell Keys, Bluecat Cornsnakes own Nancy (you can call her Kitty), Connie Hurley, Nancy's husband Mike, Chuck Pritzel, Kathy Love, and Paul Teutel, Sr.

Tammy Jenkins visited us during dinner as well. I was SO glad to finally meet her.

(The prior evening, you could have added Bill Love, subtracted Mike and Nancy, and put us at the Main Street Cafe in the booming metropolis of Palmyra, Wisconsin....)

A good time was had by all. My big round face was sore from the laughter.

Oh, and I failed to mention.....there just weren't enough Ball Pythons on display at the show.

The waitress, busted her tail for us. She was tipped well.

We also found out she vacuums her house with her 8 ft. BCC around her neck. She fit in well with us. :)

She also "had our back" with the restaurant manager was freaking out over two deli cups with bloodred hatchlings in 'em. There's a health code, yanno.

Jazz, it was really great to finally meet you as well. Mike and I were still laughing on the way back to the room from the frilled dragon story. Really wish that had been caught on video.

Wish we could have visited with everyone longer, we wanted to get a seat at the auction and almost didn't. We didn't get anything there except more laughter.

Wow, the ball pythons were thin this year huh. Took us two days of walking around just to find the two we purchased. I think we heard a child cry because he couldn't find one. :shrugs:

Hope everyone had a great time!
 
We were there Saturday but the whole family there (4 kids ages 12, 9, 7, 6) so we spent a lot of time telling them to stop touching stuff....
I did pick a pair of deppei jani's for an outstanding price. My wife actually fell in love with the Tangerine Albino Hondurans.
I met Kathy Love and I think Connie and I had a brief encounter in front of another vendors table as we were discussing yellow rat snakes. I think COnnie got the impression I didnt like them but I actually love them (except for the yellow I was talking about that liked to launch at my face)!
Anyway, WAY too many balls pythons...... Not nearly enough pits... or corns....
 
I am not sure if I am happy or not for not being there this year due to the Ball python explosion.
For me I would have been there for the Pits and trying to hunt down leopard geckos. :)
So how much were the pastels running this year at the show? Did they dip below $200??
 
Oh I was going to add from what I heard through the grape vine, that was the main complaint by alot of the big breeders. That to many smaller breeders were selling their balls cheaper than they were.






(that sounds wrong. lol)

Tammy, the frilled dragon story is SO last year.

This year, we were able to coax Mike, when he ate a leaf of Romaine from the appetizers, to "become" a bearded dragon. Not only did he comply, he went over the top with a few head bobs.

Whereupon everyone else at the table showed their submission with a few arm waves.

Well, technically speaking, I didn't get it at Tinley. ;) (I picked it up from Russell the night before, after the Friday night dinner.)

I think the BP market is hitting its peak, in terms of pricing. Two years ago, I saw albinos for $8K and pieds for $15K. This year, I saw $450 for an albino and $3K for a pied.

I don't think anyone was buying at the outrageous prices, along with the usual second and third generations hatching out.

Don't think that went unnoticed in your picture :)

My wife and I decided to get some GOOD pizza with the kids on Saturday night. I even called my brother in Pittsburgh to tell him where we were at :grin01:

Do you have any pictures of the pie-sided blood red? I had 2 STARVING children and we didn't make it over to see it.
