Tort Pen Part Eight: Mr. Toad's Pool Party!

Absolutly amazing!!! And you were woried about helping me build a garage. I think we should put in a bigger pond in the garage though, whadda ya think?

That is looking sweeter then ever Nancy! Though, truth be told I was expecting a bigger pond! lol... I guess that's the fish keeper in me thinking koi and goldfish!

Mr. Toad certainly looks happy to be sitting there and posing, but yeah, I can see him wanting to charge you for taking the picture too. Maybe he thinks your the papparatzi (sp??) and he thinks he's a celebrity. lol...

The bed pan thing? Joe, are you sure that was expresso and not booze in that cup?

The standard of care is offer water once a week, maybe twice if it's been in the triple digits for a long period. Hatchlings and juveniles get water daily. So this is actually luxurious for them. And it has to be wading depth- they don't swim or float. Lots don't even get a dish- they get the hose run on a sidewalk or have to drink from a sprinkler!

Lol, that was before the morning espresso, (quadruple, black, extra sweet), it'll wake you from a coma... I'm halfway through a mug now...

Nanci, for my Tort and Water Dragon tank, (500 gallon plexi), I used one of those double paint pan liners from Home Depot, it has a textured slope built right in to remove excess paint from rollers, and comes in black...

Mr. Toad ate from my hand for the first time today!

I get to work OT Sunday- which will finance more pen furnishing/building. I still need two major things- the two courses of 4x4s and the electric fence.

I'm kind of thinking, what if I put a little patio under the bench, and put a trellis over it, and planted passion flowers and jasmine!

Maybe something like this:

Well, I just had to take out all the small pebbles in front of the pool- Koko already got two down. Not a surprise. It's all replaced with stuff too big for him to eat- I hope! Butters found her burrow right away, and Koko is tucked away in his.
