I hear you... btw... how hard will it be to take the torts out in the event you need to bring them inside due to weather or other pending disaster? If they dig themselves in there good, can you still reach them well enough to pull them out? I suppose that's another benfit of building the burrow for them.Nanci said:Thanks Jenn! I don't want them to dig their own burrow because I'm afraid of flooding. In the wild, they'd dig into a hillside. So in my yard, the burrow has to be above ground. Some people keep them in little dog house-type things, but I want them to have a more natural microclimate. You should have seen Koko last night. He dug so far into the burrow that I didn't think I was going to be able to pull him out to put him to bed in the house for the night!
