Tricks to get snake out of a hide?

I wanted to weigh Ophelia today, before I leave on a weekend camping trip tomorrow. However, she was wedged up in her little "temple ruin"; this aquarium thingy I bought a while back for her to hide in, naturally and I couldn't get her to come out! So...anyone got any tricks for getting a reluctant snakie out of a tight spot?

I find that if i pretend there is something interesting in the cage, like tap my hand at the other end, or scratch around the bedding like a mouse or something else, my snakes cannot resist coming out and seeing what it is, every time

though i might just have a curious bunch lol

Yes I have a foolproof way! Simply move the hide and pick them up.

Maybe remove the hide from the viv and set it down and tap it or something to encourage her to leave. Is she just wedged in tight, or has she gone into an inaccessible hole?

I need to make a thread about horrible hides to never use. I have several examples...

You could try what what works with uncoiling tree pythons and boas: if you could just get a finger in towards its back end and give it a tickle it might come out. =P

If you cannot get your corn out of its hide easily, you shouldn't use it.

hah i know this also works.

giving my snake a gentle poke or an awkward pet or tail touch they shoot out of their hides

Whoops, didn't realize she was stuck! Maybe try enticing her with food?
