What brand/size tub would be good for a hatchling/few months old corn?

Would a UTH melt the plastic?
 
A shoebox size tub would be fine...our young ones are in 16 qt tubs now (they are yearlings now, and it's plenty of room for them).

No, a UTH with a thermostat/rheostat regulating it will be fine...the smallest ZooMed pads even state that they're safe for use on plastic.

I notice in the USA you use qt to measure the size of tubs, out of interest how many pints make a qt.

I have an Animal Plastics rack and I've been using Sterilite tubs for years now. Unfortunately I recommend against Sterilite as a tub to use. They change their tubs every 5 years or so, and the new tubs aren't necessarily compatible with the rack that was made for them.

This happened to me this past year, and thankfully the tubs fit, but they are not as good as the last tubs. They are not 100% escape proof.

So anyway, either stock up on more Sterilite than you ever think you'll need so you can use the same types of tubs as long as you need, or steer towards Rubbermaid or Iris racks/ tubs.

Also, the smallest tubs I've used for baby hatchings are 6 qt tubs.
