We have a female that is not only NOT FEEDING (which I know is pretty normal this time of year) but is going "NUTS" in her viv! And I mean... NUTS! We just got her after brumation this last Jan... A VERY sweet and friendly Motly Stripe, born in 2003... She has a little history with regurging, but has only done it once with us... She finally shed about 2 weeks ago & ever since then has gotten increasingly "aggitated". "Katchy" our little girl, not only rubs her nose incesintly up and down the glass... But about three or four times each day she actualy HITS the top and the sides with her head!! And we have both observed her standing up Cobra like, and "Striking" at the glass. And no... we both checked... No reflections... nothing like that. Now I know it is normal for them to get 'different" during mating season.. LOL But I am starting to wonder if I need to put our Sweet Little "Katchiana" in a RUBBER VIV!!! lmao!

We are just waiting for our Upper Keys Male to shed & plan to into them... (We just noticed he has opal eyes and his skins pretty ruddy... hoping he sheds soon!) And hoping EVEN MORE, that his company is enough to make her STOP beating herself silly!

Anyone else ever see this??? Just curious...

Definitely odd behaviour... It almost sounds aggressive. I'd definitely be careful and keep a close eye on them when they're together. Cannibalism sometimes happens in corns, and if she has a history of regurges there may be all sorts of little things off with her. Maybe I'm wrong? I'd definitely be cautious though.

Oh, and Kathy Love's book said that males can still be very receptive to mating even while in "blue" so if you think that his presence will chill her out I'd go ahead and put him in with her. Your call though. It's a very personal decision but it could still be over a week before he finally sheds and I'd want her to stop that behaviour soon, lol!

It kinda sounds cute, none of my snakes are that active, even during mating season. Any pics???

My Hypo Snow has become increasingly active the last couple of days. She has been "pacing" her tank alot and been really restless. She refused her meal today, too. But I have not seen her banging her head on the tank or anything like that.

Good luck with the breeding. Boy wouldn't it be something if it turns out she's really a he! :(
