Ultra and Ultramel, Snow and Anery A

Here's a hypo to compare. Hypo amels are almost impossible to pick out vs just an amel; you're guessing unless you know the hypo amel in question is from a hypo X hypo breeding result. There are supposedly subtle differences in colors and markings in a hypo amel vs an amel, but I've never seen enough true hypo amels to know the difference...

It's subtle differences in colors; ground color, eye color, the way the black pigment appears. The more you see, and the more you work with them and know what you are seeing, based on knowing what exactly the parents are, the easier it is to see the difference. And with Ultra's and Ultramels, you really go with the best guess you have, based on all the info you have :)

I'm assuming that's hypo because of the black borders on the saddles? That's about the only way I can tell it's not amel.

The eyes, the reduced black on the saddle markings and the belly would all give it away. Don't forget also, you are seeing pics of snakes on a monitor adjusted the way "you" think things should look; there's no comparison to being able to see one in person. Everyone's monitor, and the renderings of any pics on them, will be slightly different.

Look close at the borders, I've always seen that the borders are more of a grey or silver. And like Chris said the dark eyes.
Maybe I need to send you one so that you can see for yourself.

Haha, no need John. I'm sure it will just take me some time. People have been doing this for years and still learning.

Haha thanks. So much to learn... But I'm trying my damnest to learn as much as possible. I'm just glad I have this place to glean all my info from. I can't believe the misinformation that floats around shows.

lol I've gotta few ultramels left, as well as the hypo I could send as well ;)

I just looked and besides the ultramel blood the only ultramels are from the cayenne fire X tessera het ultra and they don't have any borders at all.

I think I'll stay away from hypo/ultra for now. But tessera. That's something I can identify, and I love garters. Just don't love the musk. A corn that looks like a garter to me is love.
