My corn finished shedding probably 1 - 1half weeks ago, and ive noticed, on the end of his tail, there is still a tiny bit left which still hasnt come off. Its only about 1 and half cm, but im sure this isnt right. should i help remove it (if so, how?) or should i just leave it? cheers.

I'm not sure if it can come off anymore or not, but it would be worth a try I think. I check all of my snake after they shed (especially the small ones) to see if they missed a piece.
Some people just place the snake in a container with a wet paper towl. This might only work on a freshly-shed snake (I have no ide though).
I get a wet washcloth and let the snake go through it (I wrap it around so that I can feel the snake moving. Use lukewarm (not hot) water and be patient.

i wouldnt worry, but dont see any harm in trying to get it off.
Running the snake through a wet towel or providing a moist hide might get the shed off, although if not, as it sounds like its only one shed thats on the end of the tail, it will probably come off in the next shed.

My cornsnake has a weird tail tip that looks almost like it was closed in a lock-tite lid when she was young. It has an awkward angle at the very tip, so sheds simply don't come off. It's only the last 1/2 a centimeter or so.
I take a moistened paper towel in my hand, and gently applying pressure, I let her crawl through the papertowel all the way through the tip of the tail. It works for me, but I know she has this tail issue, so I immediately check after a shed to see if it all came off. It never does. I hope that with a few more sheds, it "fixes" itself, but I don't know if that will happen or not...

:cheers: Well done. It's always best to check sheds for eyecaps and tail-tips, as they are the areas that can most commonly cause problems

Im confused now though! Up untill reading this thread i thought that the loss of a tail was due to unshed skin tightening around the end of the tail plus growth equals blocking circulation and tail loss.
Thats why i thought it if it was only one shed, then (and this is probably where im wrong!) you still have time to wait for the next shed te see it sort itself.
Just how horribly wrong am i?

I'm no expert so i don't know how much if any damage leaving the shed on the tail would do, but people are probably going on the better safe than sorry principal.......if it could cause a problem then its better to deal with it now, rather than risk it becoming a problem eventually....
