Here are pictures of my my snakes weird bellies.

this little boy was sold to me as a normal het snow and the owner said he might be a hypo?

i took him home and i noticed he didn't really have belly checks, he had some, but no that much at all.

and this is boy was sold to me as an okeetee a couple months ago

but his upper belly is white, and then it gradually turns all red.

he still has checkers though.

I'm not sure if this is normal or it happens to a lot of snakes,
i know that motleys don't have belly checks, but i don't think snake #1 is a motley because he doesn't look like one. Would there be any other reason for the lack of belly checks/ a reason why #2's belly is red, or does that just happen?
:3

- A split belly (white down the center while checks are to the sides) is a common indicator that a cornsnake is het for bloodred but ... this can, sometimes, occur when it is not het for bloodred as well. So, if neither of its parents were bloodreds, or het for Bloodred, just chalk it up to something that is an interesting ventrum but not overly unusual.
- A belly that is white, in the fore, and red/orange in the latter 1/4, 1/2, or 2/3 is a normal occurrence.

Besides what Pasodama said about the het bloodred thing, the split in the belly pattern can some times be seen in snakes het motley too. Or it could just be a freak mutation. Only way to know for sure is breeding trials in a couple years. It may be just the picture, but that first pic looks like that snake has a kink between the 6th and 7th saddle. Like I said, it may just be the way it's postioned or the pic and not a kink. Just letting you know so you can check. :)

thanks bekers! haha, your user name is so close to my last name its ridiculous.
i just checked on him, i think its just the picture.
Yeah, i have no idea what his parents are, either does the pet store owner.
he breeds his own okeetees and the rest he gets from 'some crazy corn snake lady'

I guess we'll find out when he's old enough for his ladies.

oh yeah and if he somehow has hets for that, how can you tell if his offspring is bloodred or not?

You have very cool effects on both their bellies, I especially love your okeetee. Thanks for showing us :)

i have a normal with a red belly too.... and most my "het motley" babies show some funky patterns.. i hatched out a baby amber female this year with almost no pattern on its belly... but the parents arent het motley... they are however partial zig zag and 1 of the siblings was about 65-75% zig zag :) i kept her just to do some random test breedings :)

I don't think your "okeetee" is actualy an okeetee. The black around the saddles aren't large enough.

:3 thats what he was sold to me as, and i know the store owner breeds them, so i'm going to call him an okeetee regardless(except i call him captain cuddles because he is the cuddliest). But thank you for your input, and thanks everyone, i was really stumped when i took him home and noticed he didn't look like a motley but he had a lack of belly checks..
=DDD he just shed nicely

good, that will show him in full colors :)
Do you know what the breeder bred together to get this "okeetee"?

another okeetee.
bah, i think his borders are pretty thick an he's really bright, granted he's not abbots or kathy love.

;D better shots of his saddles.

thanks for the better pics now he does look more like an okeetee, though is saddles still aren't very thick for an okeetee. and just for refrence, technicly okeetees are really normals.

Ventral Scales on Ruby Eyed Hypo

Mine has similar belly scales as does her offspring.
