Just as I suspected (and semi-worried about), Pebbles is blue.

(recap: she hatched 4-21, last fed 6-16, arrived w/me 6-23, refused my 1st feed attempt 6-28)

I wanted to be ready for the feed before I pulled her out of the viv, so I got all prepared to feed her and brained a little pinkie, only to find her eyes all blue.

~put her back in the viv and did a frantic hit and run on the chat for some reassurance... you all are the BEST!!!~

To my questions:

1.The viv humidity is reading at 55%. Is that sufficient or should I still add a wet towel over the top or moss in the hide?

2. When do I check on her?

That level is good. I would think the snake is a tad stress from being in blue.
Being a hatchling and all it might not be use to shed yet. try feeding after it shed.

And did you order you other snake yet??? :laugh:
 
Oh yes, she was certainly a bit stressed last night, that was the first thing I noticed. Not freaking out, but certainly not the calm little creature that she was last week. Everyone in chat last night assured me she'll be ok w/o eating for a bit and I know I shouldn't try to feed her until after the shed. As I understand, that will be about 6-10 days?

How do I strike that fine balance between not bothering her and making sure that her shed is going along ok and/or completed?
 
You can't do anything about the shed until she's done. Then check her carefully to make sure all the shed has come off, especially the tail tip and eye caps. If she has retained shed, it's failry easy to remedy.

She was most likely going blue when she refused the first time, so that will be a week, Sunday, right? I'd expect her to shed the middle of next week, although it could be any day, really. You may notice that she is all clear but you can't find the shed skin. That's because she hasn't shed yet! After she clears, then she will shed anywhere from 12 to 48 hours (usually on the shorter ind, in my experience). It's ok to feed her right away after she sheds.
 
so, do i take a quick peek at her each day? I've only seen her out of the hide once since she joined our family. Last night I had to dig her out of the substrate to attempt the feed. I don't want to hassle her needlessly.
 
Normally....you see the shed outside of the hide because they need to move and maybe rub against something to remove it. So no peeking required
