Around Here Somewhere....
Our original Daytona discussion thread is so huge now (and is still open to discussion on hotel rooms, raffle ideas etc), that I thought I would put a kind of "summary" thread up as to what is going on.
This also serves kind of as an invite to anyone who maybe browses the Daytona threads but isn't quite sure who can come or what it costs etc....
HOTEL INFO
Our hotel is the Homewood Suites by Hilton near the Daytona Beach Airport:

Our rates are $79 for a standard king room, $89 for a one bedroom king (bedroom is separate from living room) and $139 for a room with two queen beds. All rooms include a full size pull out sleeper sofa and kitchen.
Officially, our rate is only valid on rooms booked before August 1st, anything booked after that date - rates are based on availability. If they still have rooms available - I can still get the rate.
You can also cancel your room up until 6pm on your day of arrival with no penalty.
DINNER INFO
Dinner and the GTG/Raffle will be held after the show on Saturday evening at the hotel. Dinner will run from approximately 6-7pm with the raffle to follow.
Dinner this year is catered by Pizzeria Uno's:
Unlimited Salad, Pizza and Pasta with Iced Tea and Sodas and dessert
To include house salad with house dressing(red wine vinaigrette), Assorted Deep Dish Pizzas, Fettuccine Alfredo and Penne Marinara
Dinner is $15 per person. This includes taxes, gratuity and any additional fees.
We kindly request anyone planning to attend dinner to see Carol's threads for her raffle to prepay dinner. We have to have payment to Uno's in advance of our gathering so it really is important to purchase your dinner ticket in advance. We will have a few extra dinners paid for if for some reason you really cannot pay in advance - but there is a limited number of those so there is a chance if you have not paid in advance there may not be any available if you just show up at the hotel.
Carol's Dinner Raffle Thread
RAFFLE
The raffle and other festivities will be held after dinner. You do not have to attend dinner to be able to participate in the rest of the fun! Andrew Wyatt from USARK will be stopping by to say a few words and we will be presenting the Bechtel award again to a deserving member of our cornsnake community.
For the raffle itself - tickets will be again $1.00 per ticket. As of right now - we have at least 20 donations. I believe there are actually more than that because I know Kathy has been securing some as well from outside CS. You will be able to purchase tickets through out dinner and then we will also have some time between dinner and the raffle to purchase tickets for anyone who did not attend dinner.
If anyone else would like to contribute a donation - more are always welcome! We are doing everything we can to try to meet or beat the amount we raised last year for USARK. Donations can be live animals, goods or gift certificates. Anyone who would like to donate who is not attending Daytona can send their donations to me and I will take them with me when I head out there.
And as always - if anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions - please feel free to contact me!!
