Its about 7:00 am EST and i have just seen that my snow corn has laied about 4 eggs. but she has not been housed with a male for over a year. I am all types of confused. HELP please?????!!!!!!????
She's retained sperm for the year and the eggs are fertile
How old was she when she was housed with the male? If she was older than 8 months (youngest female becoming gravid that I've heard of was 8 months old) there's a chance she's retained the sperm.
It would be really difficult to keep eggs with mom and have them stay at the right temp and moisture. Mom would probably crawl around on or in them, disurbing the moss and maybe turning them upside down. I never heard of anyone trying it successfully before, but I suppose anything might be possible
