Walmart aspen bedding

Does anyone have any experience with aspen bedding purchased from Walmart. The brand name is Alphapet. It was half the price of zoo med or zilla. I know you get what you pay for thats why I am asking. Thanks
 
I've bought aspen from Walmart before, but I'm not sure exactly of the brand. It was pretty good stuff though. It had pictures of rodents on it, but I figured aspen is aspen. I use snake stuff for my gerbils and gerbil stuff for my snakes. I say if you find a good deal, go for it.
 
Thats what Ive been using I seen it there and grabbed a few bags for the price it was really awesome I thought ;-)
 
It has worked great for me! I have bought around 20 bags so far and have never had any trouble with it. The price is right too!

It's the only place that has nice aspen bedding that is cheap.. so I buy all of mine there. It's really great stuff.
 
If anyone is interested, I buy Kaytee brand aspen. It was highly recommended to me for many types of snakes, and fortunately I can use it for all of mine. I'm not sure the size of the bag the Wal-mart aspen comes in, but I got a bag of Kaytee thats 8 cubic ft.(compacted but breaks up huuuge) for $22 on amazon.com, with free shipping & handling. Just thought I'd let you know so you can compare prices etc, if you like.
 
I use the Walmart Alphapet brand too. It's great, only a level or two below the grade of the stuff packaged for snakes but at a MUCH better price!
 
Its a holdover from my rat owning days but I always freeze the bedding (except Harlan bedding). Most pet store bedding can have bugs on them. And even if they don't do anything to our snakes, I hate the thought of bugs! The WalMart bags fit perfect in my freezer, where I keep them for a few days before using it.
