Was just wondering if......

Should i stay away from the tank completely for the first week or so. Or do it matter if i peek in on him. I peeks on him every so often to see him, and watch him, and etc. And my daughter keeps lookin in on him. we don't tap the glass or make any sudden movements or loud noises aroudn him. so i was just wondering if its to stressful for him to be seein us or if its ok as long as im not tryin to touch him or take him out. also, i heard snakes are deaf. is the true?

A little bit of peeking isnt going to hurt. Snakes are deaf to our form of sound but do "hear" through vibrations. It is great that you are being sensitive to your snakes time needed to settle in.

I think you should just carry on your normal activities and let him get used to that. It's scary for a snake when you loom over the tank, though, so try not to do that.

My guy has just gotten to the point that he doesn't hide when he sees me, even walking around next to his cage. So I agree that it is good to let them get used to activity outside of the take, after all you can't walk on tip-toes every time you pass him. ;)
