water for snakes to drink. Options?

As an aside, most people don't realize that not all tap water contains fluoride. If you're rural and on a well, of course there's no fluoride. Not all water utilities use it, either. Check with your water provider if you're not sure.

Thanks for the advice, Caryl. I guess I'll just decrease the amount of conditioner to 1/4 or 1/2 the amount that's suggested. That way I don't feel paranoid about the water having undesired solvents, and I won't be giving too much extra nutrients.

But just wondering, does anyone here use bottled water with water conditioner? I believe I found one person on here saying that they did, but I don't remember where they posted.

As for using tap water, I'd rather not use the water coming out of my faucets. When left out to evaporate, the water leaves some kind of sediment behind. It also happens when I boil my water. So as much as possible, I'd rather not give my snake tap. I have no idea what's in my water, and I usually don't cook with the water from my faucets anyway. I usually just use the water from my fridge dispenser to cook. As for my drinking water, I mainly drink bottled water. So, I give my snake what I drink. Anyway, that's the rule of thumb right? Give your snake what you would drink? Well, at least, pertaining to water.

Yes, that's the rule of thumb. Share your H2O with your snake, but keep all other interesting beverages for yourself!
