water proof sealants?

hey guys im looking for a water proof non toxic ealant i can use if theres even such a thing does anyone know of any?

Krylon makes a spray on clear coat. Almost any sealant will be fine as long as you let it air out for a good while.

If you want something to seal joints, then use aquarium sealant.

To seal wooden surfaces in a viv, I've used the polyurathane varnish that you get for waterproofing wooden floors. Three coats, drying and sanding down between each one, then let it dry thoroughly and only use it when you can no longer smell the fumes (and then I tend to leave it a few days after that, just in case).

If you want something to seal joints, then use aquarium sealant.

Aquarium sealant is overpriced. You can just use silicone. Just let it fully cure before exposing to a reptile.

okay that sounds good i never thought about using silicone. but if it gets wet do you think it would be harmful to the snake?

The silicone? No, if it gets wet it won't harm the snake. Just make sure its fully cured as it gives off acetic acid when it cures. But once its fully cured, your snake will be just fine around it.

exactly. Thats what I use all the time. I generally get GE Silicone II from Home Depot.
