Weevils in the viv

Okay, I know this is weird, but I'm asking anyway.

Five out of the last six mornings, I've found a drowned grain weevil in the water dish of Yohsong's viv. Yes, I'm sure it's a grain weevil, AKA flour weevil AKA grain or flour beetle. Yohsong is currently a classroom snake, and the source of the weevils was the bag of mouse food. I can't quite figure out what the weevils are up to in the snake's viv, other than searching for a drink. I can't think of any reason why I should worry, but worry is something at which I excel: hence this thread. :sobstory:

I've taken care of the weevil source. Does anyone know of any health issues for herps that could be caused by grain weevils? Thanks in advance.

I can’t imagine that a grain weevil would harm the snake in any way. If you have removed the source any remaining weevils will starve so I’m guessing problem solved.

Thanks, Wade. That's kinda what I figured, but I wanted to double check in case weevils were a vector for some snake disease I've never heard of. ;)
