Well, I have been contemplating selling my 2 corns. Not because I don't love them or don't want them.. But we are Really having a Issue with money right now..and we have to scrung up to get money to feed them and the other animals. I have a roomate moving in on the 1st of Dec.. so things will get better then. But we have things on the car that need to be fixed.. our electric keeps going up.. the water bill keeps going up.. I am not too sure why.. and we are out of money. Hubby got paid thurs..and it is GONE.. ALL of it..all to bills. We have Ramen to eat the next 2 weeks.. And animals need food. So, I have up stuff on Craigslist to try to sell... before I sell the snakes..But no one is biting on any of them...

so, I am going to see if I can rehome my 2 corns.. With tanks I guess.. I really am very upset... I Love my 2... But I need to do what is best. Maybe later on.. when money is better..we can get another again.. Ugh...

I have a TV, A Black.. Plether?! Chair and Ottoman.. a Massage cousion.. brand new.. used 1 time.. a 20g fish tank with all Supplies... And varies other items.. And nothing... :-/ ugh.. this economy Sucks!
 
When was that last time they ate? If it hasn't been too long, they can probably make it until your husband gets paid again. They are known for their ability to eat one meal a week, you know. Do you have a job?
 
Have you considered brumating your snakes for the next several months? They won't need to eat and won't need to be heated. That way, you can keep them and not have to worry.

Where in Florida are you? If you're close enough, I can supply you with enough mice to last you through the next couple of months, and can also get you some free puppy and kitten food (not much but it's better than nothing) and $8 Off coupons for Iams food (if you get the small bags, it will only cost you about $3-4/bag and works out to be the least expensive/pound of food. And if you're not that close, I can still mail you some coupons.
 
If I were closer, I would definitely house the snakes for you until the money-situation improves....perhaps you could look into finding people to foster?

I hope things look up for you soon...the economy is just sucky for so many people right now!
 
I wish I could help out, but things are tight for me too... Hope all goes well and gets better financially soon.

Hang in there. It's unfortunate that animals have to be the first to go when money is an issue. They truly are luxury items, so it's understandable. I like the idea of burmation as mentioned earlier. This would be good for them and you. I always find that in the hard times, it's my animals that get me through. Friends and family are wonderful, but sometimes you just need something there that'll just love you and not talk back.
 
Definitely let us know where in FL. I live in Tallahassee and would be willing to keep them for a while until you can get back on your feet. Just hang in there! I moved out here last year from CO and could not find a job for 3 months. I know exactly how you feel!
 
Wow, susan I never thought of Brumation. But they are so young.. I didn't think you could do that till they were adults. My RO is 86g as of tonight I weighed her.. and my butter is 33g. I fed them Mon last week. So they are due to eat now. I Think we are going to just get live this time.. cause it is cheaper to buy 1 per snake then to buy the packs of F/t we normally do.. :-/ I have never done live though. But No one sells the ones we need in F/T In 1 packs.

As far as a job, No.. I Don't have one.. haven't in 3 yrs ..as of Oct 13th.. *sigh* had 2 surgeries.. which had be on Home care 7 days a week. Insurance didn't allow me to leave cause I had to have nurse care. And so I been actively looking for work the last yr.. and of course.. the economy is sucky.. and finding work is really tough. :-/ I Just need to make it by the next 2 weeks.. really.. Then the roomate moves in.. and we will get help with bills and such.

I am sure most of you know I fostered for a Pit Bull Rescue.. Did it almost 2 yrs.. and we just can't afford it anymore. And with having a new roomie.. there is NO room for anymore animals.. LOL I will have 3 big dogs.. 3 small dogs.. and 3 cats.. 3 people in a 2bdrm 1000sq ft place. LOL Almost should get a 3rd snake.. LMAO! ;) *Kidding of course*

But we are doing what we can to make it. And after all I do to help people and animals.. I guess I just hoped Karma would come back to help us out. We don't have much here as we sell what we have to some months to make ends meet. When I got my snakes.. we had another roomie.. so we were able to afford it.. then she told us one day she was moving the next week..so we didn't expect it..so it kinda sucked! Lol

I don't mean to pile all the issues on here.. I just need ideas on what the hell to do. :-(

Don't know what your trying to sell, but I've never had anything sell on Craigslist. You might try eBay, they are doing a thing where the insertion fee on the first 5 items every 30 days you list is free, so you only owe them something if it sells. Hope everything works out soon for you!
 
If you could drive up to the Pasco/Hernando county line, via 41, 19 or the parkway, I can have a bag 'o mice for you plus other critter food. I don't have that many small adult mice (too many '08s eating those), but you can always give multiples of what I do have. Just let me know and we'll work out a meeting place and time.
 
Just wanted to chime in and say I would also help out if I was not in Canada.....and Kudos to you Susan and the others who have offered some form of help it just shows there are good people still on this earth, it also shows what a community(even if internet based) is all about!

As far as what I been feeding.. I just been feeding the butter 2 pinkies and was noticing they seemed to go fast.. So he has to be on Fuzzys now. And The RO I have been giving Hoppers.. and she is doing OK on those. She is CLOSE to the Weaned Mouse size.. But I don't think she has to be on that size.

Omg Susan..Your Amazing! I will totally pay you back for the mice once we get roomie moved in and get money.
