What a lucky kitty!!

Daenerys

Mother of Dragons
So two weeks ago my dad was driving my brother and sister to their last day of school when he heard some strange noises. He thought at first it was on the radio, but when he turned that off it was still there. So once he got into the carpool line he got out and checked under the hood of the car and what did he find in there but a little kitten sitting on the battery! The poor little thing had ridden 4 miles under the hood of a really noisy and probably extremely hot mustang. My dad picked him up and he clawed the crap out of his hand and bit his thumb, so he tossed the kitty into the car and it hid under the seat all the way home. When my dad got home he tried for like half an hour to get the kitten to come out but he was just too scared. Eventually the kitty made a break for it and ended up in the garage where he lived for a week and a half. My dad fed him and provided water for him until last night, when I came to visit. I managed to catch him and put him in a harness, and he was surprisingly very well behaved after that considering I grabbed the poor thing by his head and had to hold on rather tight cause he was fighting for escape (I couldn't let go because he was about to run underneath a big cabinet!). It was like he turned into an instant purr machine ^_^ This morning I took him to the vet and all his tests came back negative so we have a healthy little kitten estimated to be between 6 and 8 weeks old! Yaaaay! Oh and he was named Lucky, lol. Totally unoriginal but I decided not to change him because he really IS lucky! Lots of kittens get killed by sleeping in car engines! Here are pictures:

Right after getting caught and harnessed, you can still see all the grossness from the garage on my arms and shirt, lol

He would snuggle in closer when he got scared, SO CUTE!

Brandon is already torturing the poor beast with belly tickles (not really torturing, kitty didn't mind!)

I set him down on the bathroom counter while preparing some food for him for the night and he climbed right into the sink!

oh man he's TINY

he must have been terrified poor little bug .....

Glad he has found a good home!

You should name him Mustang. If it wasn't for the car, you wouldn't have a sweet, yet spunky kitty. And he was wild like a wild horse. Most mustangs settle down and become the best companions, just like your new baby. We give all our pets middle names so maybe he could be Lucky Mustang.

Oh my goodness! I love his eyes. They look blue??

And you should definitely stick with the name Lucky! My first cat ever was named Lucky (although not due to such an amazing story- I was a toddler and named him after a dog across the street) He passed away nearly six years ago, but I love and miss him to this day. So I find Lucky to be a very special cat name :)

Although, Mustang is a cute name, as well!

I'm glad you were able to save this adorable baby and give him a home.

I decided to just keep it Lucky. I got him a kitten collar last night and a tag wiith my phone number on it in case he ever gets outside, but we plan to make him an indoor cat :)

I got some new pictures of my baby boy!!

Being pet by my fiance

Noming his dinner. My dad was feeding him wet food in the garage, I am mixing wet and dry to slowly wean him onto dry food.

Awwww.... *smooshes kitten face* He's got the loveliest green eyes, and I extra endorse the name Mustang.

ANYTHING but Lucky, in fact!

See, in veterinary medicine there is this "law of opposite names" that applies to kittens in general, and the name Lucky in particular. Most staff cringe when hearing that name, because Luckys tend to have the worst luck! Also never name a kitten something cutesy like "sweety" or "angel" or "princess" or "snuggles"... they turn out evil.

Ditto what Megan said! Pets named Lucky seem to inevitably be plagued with health problems!

What a cutie pie! He looks like a teeny version of my boy Sherpa. :)

Well he passed all his tests at the vet and didn't die in the engine so he doesn't seem to be the health problem type!

With the wet and dry food we feed our cat dry all day and around dinner time give him a packet of wet food because he loves it. Also so he can eat whatever he has to if you have a food emergency.

Lucky went to the vet again today for his booster shots! They weighed him and he has nearly doubled in size in just two weeks!!! The first vet said he weighed 1.8 lbs and today he weighs 3.4 lbs! Yay for my growing boy! Comparison pics:
