What are these spots?

I hadn't handled this snake since I've gotten him last week but I noticed these spots down his/her back

What could they be?

Just looks like some discoloration to me? Nothing to worry about, just less pigment in those areas. They could fade away over time or stay on the snake for life. If the scales look damaged at all they could be healed up scars, but it doesn't really look like that in my opinion.
