Temperature dependent sex determination in cornsnakes? Since when?
Nice catch; how did so many posts make it before the flag got thrown on that? :shrugs: Cornsnakes are sexed genetically, not by incubating temps.
I know for a fact that if I put my eggs in my attic in the summer -even for a day- they would be cooked, regardless of whether I put them in "the part of the attic where it is the coolest". Glad it worked for you, but most attics exceed 90F in the summer, which makes it a horrible place to incubate cornsnake eggs.

thanks Chris, how many egg containers do you have in your home-made incubator at the moment? Do you just have the eggs in Deli cups? Do you have the Deli cups stacked on top of each other? How often do you have to re-wet the eggs? Thanks again sorry about all the question.

I currently have one clutch of cornsnake eggs and several clutches of Leopard Gecko eggs. Two containers at present.

This is why I'm glad this site was recommended to me. I've been out of the game for awhile. Temp and sex determination was in its infancy last time I checked. It was assumed (I know about assuming) it was, or would be true, for all reptiles. I learned something today. Thanx guys.
As far as the attic. "SUMMER" is the key word. My bad; I have a habit of not being clear. We did it, in spring, it worked. Would I do it in Florida in July, no.

Howdy!
I noticed that Cflaguy is from FLorida, and DirtySanchez is from Pennsylvania. I just wanted to mention that even though the room temp method may be fine for Florida, where its a lot warmer and people are used to warmer room temps, it may not work for Pennsylvania, where its really cold and people are used to their room temps being cooler. Just my 2 cents. :)

BTW, welcome back to snake keeping Cflaguy! I hope you keep to snake lovers for gal friends from now on.

Kimbyra- thanks for pointing that out, room temp to me means temps that you would keep your snakes in but thats a good point :)
