I am a new corn snake owner and want to be prepared for when my snake is going to shed. Does anyone have any pictures of a corn going into "blue". Thanks.

I remember the 1st time Big's shed. It was the day after we got him..

Its quite daunting in a wierd way. You soon get to know the signs.

One of the 1st signs on my snakes, is the underside of them looks sort of misty. Here is Tu, if you look at the underside of his tail you can just see ..

This is before his eyes properly turned, but I would say they look duller at 1st and then the eyes go very misty (almost off white colour) whilst at this stage of shed they very rarley budge from their hide apart for to drink. This is because they lose a big part of thier sight.

What morph is your snake? Some of them, like snow corns, are difficult to see when in blue. This is my amel in blue:

I have an amel. Do the eyes change? I had her since the end of Feb. and she did not shed yet.

let's put it this way... you know it when you see it - as your snake doesn't look the same... kinda like someone let them slither thru milk and it glazed them like a donut!

ok, so it is pretty obvious. I should be able to tell when it is going to shed.

Yes, the eyes will change. If you will look closely at the picture I posted of my amel, you can see the difference. He is starting to clear--approaching the end of his blue phase. The lower part of his body, close to his tail, is closer to what he looks like normally. The head and upper part of his body are still pretty cloudy, or blue. This is an example of the difference you can expect to see in yours.
