What is your cornsnakes name?

Wow, there are many great names out there... we've got quite a few so I'll try to get them all...

Some of them are named for color, some for attitude, and some just because it sounded cool! lol. Most of our corns are named after gemstones, rocks, and minerals because they are the 'Family Jewels'.

Pearl - Snow, Sandstone - Reverse Okeetee, Opal - Snow, Charcoal - Anery Something, Flint - Ghost, Agate - Normal, Copper - Amel, Garnet - Amel, Ruby - Amel, Obsidian - Anery, Gypsom - Snow Motley, Graphite - Anery Motley,
Galena - Anery Motley, Granite - Aztec Normal, Amethyst - Lavender, Jasper - Sunkissed, Mercury - Blood, Breccia - Hypo, Zircon - Hypo, Basalt - Abbott's Okeetee, Wulfenite - Abbott's Okeetee, Hematite - Blood, Ferrite - Blood, Cassiterite - Blood, Alexandrite - Blood, Limonite - Caramel, Malachite - Caramel, Travertine - Caramel, Leucite - Ultramel, Nepheline - Ultramel, Mr. Stone - Ultramel, Riverstone - Amel stripe, Sediment - Amel Stripe, Soapstone - Snow, Brookite - Amel, Beryl - Rootbeer, Feldspar - Rootbeer, Sunstone - Rootbeer, Cinnabar - Rootbeer, Topaz - Normal, Pebbles - Amel Motley, Shale - Ultramel Anery, Kimberlite - Normal, Ryolite - Normal, Olivine - Normal, Mica - Phantom, Kyanite - Miami,

and then the 'other' names:

Hope - Rootbeer, Monster - Rootbeer, Homer Crimson - Crimson, and Gimp. We also have 3 un-named critters that we are going to name here soon, and eight more hatchlings that will have to wait for new owners to name them.

The non corns are: Monty - BP, Little John - BP, Dolly - Cali King, Mom's Folly - Cali King, Jane the Pain - Albino Nelson's Milk, Thor - S.L. Potosi King, Valkyrie - S.L. Potosi King, and Freya - S.L. Potosi King.

Now I'm going to go soak my hands and coat them with mineral ice because that was loads to type! lol..

Fun!

It's awesome to see who names their snakes and what! Cute cute cute :) I name them all - except for those that belong to the kids. Otherwise I 'theme' name.

Diffused/bloodred morphs get a god/goddess or mythological name.
Lava or het for Lava morphs get a name that means 'fiery'.
Ghosts get a descriptive name...meaning ghost on some level.
Okeetees get a name meaning bright in some language.
Any Normals with hets get a name that in some language means secret or hidden.
Motleys get a character from Battlestar Gallactica :)
Sunkissed morphs get a character from Deadwood :)
There are a few odds and ends that just have names because they're descriptive... like Kaluah

Kids corns: Batman (amel), Ruby Tuesday (snow), Sunny (not really sure what she is)

Non corns:

Hognose - Gimley and Gimlet
MBK's - Leggs McGee and Jimmy the Foot
White Sided Black Rats - Wash and Zoe (from Firefly)
Bairds - River and Drizzle (I don't know... it just came to me when I was holding them..)

My corn is named Nevada, which means snowfall in Spanish (or something like that). I wanted it to be something different...

Lilith: '05 Ghost Female
Isis: '05 Creamsicle Female
Bliss: '06 Blizzard Female
Myst: '06 Blizzard Male

And I will pick up a male silverqueen at snakeday@houten; I was thinking of Silvain.

Other names I want for future corns:
Amber female: Tigerlily
Butter Male: Ronan
Caramel Striped Female: Dawn of Delight
Anery Lavender female: Tinkerbell
Phantom Male: Leto

I like nice names :p

In order from my signature line.

Big Mama
Coco, Elizabeth, Veronica
Mrs. Kravitz, Manny, Sprinkles, Princess

I let my kids name them except for Mrs. Kravitz. I named her and here's why.
Remember Bewitched? She's like this most of the day.

I love checking out the names everyone has given their snakes and the reasons behind some of them. My list doesn't compare to some of you guys, but I'll share anyways.

Malachai - striped Cali. King - always thought it would be a cool name for a snake.

Clementine - my first corn..she is a Miami-phase. For some reason I had that "Oh My Darling Clementine" folk song stuck in my head the week before I got her ...so she got stuck with the name.

Dixie - Miami - since I already had Clementine I wanted something else along the same "folksy" line so ended up with Dixie after the old confederate war song.

Casey - my male Miami - had to keep the theme so named him after the old "Casey at the Bat" (or for you Grateful Dead fans it could also be Casey Jones!)

Ripley - male caramel motley cornsnake - just liked the name for him.

Jude - aberrant anery male (cubed/striped) - Beatles theme for this group.

Sadie - zigzag anery female - sticking with the Beatles theme.

Selene - silver queen ghost female - Goddess of the moon

Kashmir - charcoal male - new theme - Led Zeppelin!

Zoso - normal female with hets. - sticking with Zeppelin theme

Sagebrush and Tumbleweed - male and female transpecos ratsnakes from Mike (mbdorfer) - came with those names.

Dax - female gray band kingsnake - also from Mike but she was named Mr. Salty so I adjusted her name. When I wasn't sure if she was a he or a she we settled on Dax as a character from one of the Star Trek series that could change its sex. (If I ever find a male for her it will be Ronan - as in Ronan Dex from Stargate Atlantis)

I have a whole list of names that I keep adding too for any future purchases. When I get a new snake I check the list and see if I have something that fits.

Scout-anery
Pele-amel
Elliot-anery lav, because he looked like ET to me when I got him
Eowyn-hypo lav
Phaethon-phantom
Judas-hypo blood
