What to do if hatchling doesn't take food right away?

About to feed our newly acquired hypo corn (had him 4 days) for the first time. Just want to plan ahead in case he doesn't take the pinkie right away. We are going to use a separate feeding container. How long should we leave him with the pinkie in case he doesn't take it right away? Also, how long should we wait to try again if the first time fails?

Thank you as always!

If it feeds in a separate container, is it ok to do the first feeding in a deli cup with holes, or is that too small an area for feeding?

Deli cups are perfect. I have 25 in them with pinks now!

I heard that you shouldn't disturb the snake for a week, and then feed it after. That may be wrong, but you should probably let it settle in for a day or two more...

Good luck on your little baby!
