Did I stop for an instant on that one? Yes.

Would I have with Amel het Anery? No.

Amel het snow?...just long enough to twitch.

LOL, Merry Christmas, Joe. :santa:

I think you twitched because of the shot of adrenalin that hit your system when you started to move your mouse towards the reply button.

Anyway, you are automatically excluded from answering those questions, because you can talk genetics in your sleep.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good Corn Snake.

I wish I could convince my family to purchase me a nice cornsnake for christmas, but they already think my collection is out of control and a waist of money. I don't bother anymore explaining to them that the cost of the snakes themselves will even out when they produce their first clutches for me. Waist of breath...

The problems with saying het [insert combo] is that if the individual does not understand basic genetics, they won't understand why their amel het snow isn't producing what they would expect. If I had no knowledge that het snow would create anery out of the mix (if the mate I chose was also het snow), I would be at a total loss why my babies turned out black instead of white. If someone doesn't know and understand the basics of genetics, they really shouldn't be interested in buying offspring that are het for one trait or another. Ignorance is no excuse. If they are interested in cornsnake morphs, they should do the research. A very good friend of mine is mindboggled how I can pull from my mind in a matter of seconds the genetic cross that is needed to make any given cornsnake or leopard gecko morph. He is eager to learn and understand. I, like most on this forum...Learned from books and soaking in the information provided on this forum.

This angle never works. I tried that on my X for many years, and the snakes finally won out. They will probably want some of the profits after you break even, like my X. LOL

I am sure your family has many things that feed their inner child as well, that are equally a waste of money. They are just prejudice against your inner child food.

EXACTLY. Example - my father purchases the NFL Ticket from Direct TV every year...Why? Because he wants it. Doesn't watch 3 quarters of the games...but still wants it...

I've given up and don't bother. When my father bitches about the room that houses my 30+ reptiles, I tune him out. He'll never understand my passion.
