I am in the process of getting materials for building a hatchling rack. My questions is this do you guys think I should use for the tubs?
sterilite 1752-6qt 14 1/2"L x 8"W x 4 5/8"H
Sterilite 1754-15qt 17"L x 11 1/8"W x 6

Which would you use? They are about the same price. I want to build something that they can stay in until they gointo there rubbermaid 2221 tubs which I hope will be good for the duration. Thanks,
-Matt

The 6 qt should be good for them for up to a year, if you don't feed them too much. The 15 qt would be good for about 2 years, again, if you don't feed them too much.

Obviously, if you can afford to give them more room, the 15 qt would be the best, especially since you're not going to use a medium sized cage at all during their life.

Just a reminder, some people have had escapes with Sterilite, usually due to the tubs warping in the heat or under pressure. But, I've also noticed that some of the lids don't fit the boxes just right, so you either need to have a tight fitting shelf ontop of the box or use binder clips around the outside edges. If you don't plan on using the lids, make sure the boxes slide in the rack with very little space above the box.

I use 15 Qt. Sterilite for my yearling corns. I then use 32 Qt. for my adults. The nice thing about the racks I built is that the 15 and 32 Qt. Sterilites are the same height, and two 15's side by side is the same lenght as a 32, and the same depth. Each shelf can hold 2 15's or 1 32. It works great as they get older. I just built two new racks to make the space for the yearlings that are close to reaching adult size and need 32 Qt. cages. I anticipate building two more racks next spring for the next 'wave' of adults. The great thing is that I don't have to build separate racks for Sterilite and then Rubbermaid.

There was a discussion about Sterilite in this thread:
