e just recently picked up a new pair though-couldn't stay away very long. It is a little unfortunate that they've become so common and cheap these days-for whatever reason it seems like fewer people are working with nice high end specimens lately and I've seen a lot more small, poorly structured specimens that just don't impress me. Regardless, I always thought this species was cool because:
1. They can change colors drastically
2. They eat powdered diet and require room temperatures-literally the easiest reptiles I've ever cared for
3. They're usually quite handleable and feel very soft to the touch
4. When they walk slowly and deliberately, you can see that they bend their toes backward at the joints when lifting each foot-I was captivated by this when I first saw one at a herp show as a teenager
5. They have prehensile tails with an adhesive lamella at the tip
They may not be for everyone, but they are definitely unique in the gecko world. While they're as common as dirt now, it's still pretty awe inspiring to see a large adult with nice structure and you can find almost any color and/or pattern you want now. I just think the lower end, less desirable specimens have become so much more prevalent that it reduced their overall appeal to some extent-just my personal opinion though.
