I never noticed if mine yawn before a shed but I do see some of my corns yawn on occasion, so I'll to pay more attention. Maybe they are bored watching me :shrugs: susanPlissken said:They sometimes also yawn right before a shed.
You'd be surprised. I've had a few corns and many kingsnakes try to eat me. They do the nose-press into your hand or arm a couple of times, then they open wide and give it a go. They're not the smartest animals in the world...Velvet said:I seriously doubt they are sizing you up. Corns and Balls don't recognize us as food.
If you ever have the misfortune of witnessing a regurge, you'll see that there's no mistaking it for a simple yawn. I've seen it firsthand only twice, I think. Very, very disturbing. :awcrap:Nomed said:I remeber the first time Kade yanwed it was after his first feed with me I was so scared he was like about to regurg. or something.

That's exactly what I thought the first time my ball python did it and I put him back in his viv cause it scared me. For some reason, I don't "fear" my corn but the BP, I don't trust him as much after seeing him strike a rat! He seems more "wild somehow.
