Looks like it WANTED to be a motley but had a quick change of thot halfway through, and decided to be aztec-like?

Either way its gorgeous.

Looks like more of a motley pattern near the head, but it degrades into...I think the closest approximation was, as JenC said, an Aztec like pattern. So maybe label it as an oddball? :grin01:

Thanks. the mother was a miami and the father a caramel. I had 15 eggs from this breeding last year 14 hatched normally but this one didn`t, i slit the egg a week after the 1st one had hatched. At first i thought it was a partly formed snake that was dead but then it moved, it hatched 2 days later but hadn`t ate the yolk and weighed just 4g. All the others had the bright colouring of the mother but this little one was almost black and as you can see has stayed very dark in colour.
The underneath is plain for approx.5-6 inches then the checkers start.

Nice parents! It looks like a nice normal partial zig zag to me. I'm betting the reason it lacks red and has a lot of yellow/brows is because it is het Caramel. I can see a bit of red tinting in the saddles though. I think the effect is very nice.

Thanks, she just seems to have a lot of different patterning going on and someone pointed out that the saddles seem to be quite squared.

Very pretty... Looks like it's got some extra melanin in it in that picture, like some of the wilds I've seen. Love the pattern switch. ^_^ Iwould agree with the others about the Motley/Zigzag...
