That's what I was going to say, but I'm not too sure. Although what struck me is that the black one on top of the bunch looks like it has a backwards foot.

Wow it dose look like the mouse has a backwards foot. :shrugs:

Yeah, that brown one on the right side nearest to the tank, it really looks like a rat pup. Maybe the mom rejected it, so she threw it in with the mice? :shrugs:

LOL, there are four mice in with a litter of rats. The mother mouse died and she was the only mouse who had babies in that particular cage. I took four of the babies (which were just crawlers at the time) and held them in my hands with some of the youngest baby rats I had to get their smell on them. Then I put them all back in the rats cage and the mom rat adopted the mice. Now they are hoppers!

I figured if I put the orphaned mice in a different mouse cage they'd get killed for sure...since it seems to me that mice are more "nasty" then rats. Of course I could have just fed them all to snakes but I wanted to see if the rat would raise them with her own.

That is cute! I really like the fuzzy that is hiding under the newspaper. He did a pretty good job of becoming camoflauged!

im going to have to say the black ones are adult mice and the white/brown ones are rat pups but that one solid brown one looks like a squiral :shrugs:

There was a pet store in the area here that would use a rat Mom to feed his pinkie mice, apparently he had no problems with the rat nurseing the mice and the pinkies were rumoured to grow pretty quick due to the amount of food the Rat was able to provide.. Thought this was something that was known, although I never tried this myself..

Regards..

I have a friend that does this also. She said that the baby mice grow really fast when they are fostered by rats. I've never had the guts to try it myself, though. I may have to now :)

HYBRID!!!!
...HYBRID...HYBRID...HYBRID!!!!!

:roflmao:

;)

I don't really think mice and rats will actually cross willingly. Although the Momma rats may foster the mice, I don't think it is likely for the two vermin to cross..

Regards..
