Why cut pinks?

Well, I fed my first cut somethings (I had them labeled as peach fuzzies, but they were awfully small!) to Mr. Picky last night, and he was very pleased to eat them. I used a toenail scissors, after thawing, and they didn't bleed or anything! Don't know if the cutting made them more appealing, or if he was just hungry after missing two weekly feedings...I think I am going to start cutting for Inez, too.

Do the cuts need to be "V" shaped? I tried the cutting method for the first time on my newest addition, Goobin. He ate, but the cuts I made where more of straight slights horizantly along the back. |||| <=== Just like that.

There's a thread out there about someone who's snake got in a bit of trouble due to that. Apparently the snake got it's jaw caught under one of the slits in the pinky, the owner went to look at it, and freaked out because it appeared that half of the snake's head was missing. I tried to find the thread, but searching "headless" and "jawless" didn't seem to work. Basically, it gave the snake a tough time.

Way to go!!

Inez got her first cut pink tonight- she took it as I was sliding her into her deli cup, and she had a hard time uncurling her tail from my hand she was so excited!
