Why is he fluffy so mean?

Why is fluffy so mean? I handle him 4 times a week and I cant reach in is cage to change water without being snapped at. It doesn't hurt a bit but its anoying!!! Are rat pinks ok for my corn? He is eating fuzzies every 3-7 days. My rats just bred and I threw the pinks in the freezer. Are they as health for fluffy as mice?

Some snakes are just mean, but hopefully if you keep up the handling he'll learn to trust you and not snap everytime you put your hand in (I'm assuming you've had this snake for at least a month or two now).

As for food, mice have all the nutrition corns need. Rats are a bit higher, but also higher in fats. Just MHO, but I'd stick with mice for corn snakes.

rep power I mean
In the lower left corner of this message box there should be a couple of icons there. The silver/bluish one (that's supposed to be a scale but it took me a minute to figure out what it was) is a reputation thing. I'm assuming that's what rep power stands for but I dunno since I just joined this forum yesterday.

Click on it and it lets you choose between approve and disapprove (you can't do it for yourself, so you'll have to click on somebody else's to see it). I clicked approve on yours, but it didn't change anything, so I dunno.

Ive had him for about 4 months. But will rats help him drow at a better rate?

A better rate? How fast is he growing now?

There are ups and downs to feeding rats. Ups being somewhat higher nutrients (not much though, from what I gather) and downs being much higher in fats. Feeding your snake too much food or too often will make it grow faster, but this is known as "power feeding", and power feeding is a very bad thing. It can (and often will) lead to a much shorter lifespan and organ failure.

Whether you feed rats or mice is up to you, so long as you keep it to 1 appropriate sized food, every 7 or so days. Some people like to feed rats, but corns get ALL the nutrition they need from mice, so why change that to a food that's higher in fat?

Just my opinion. :)

How do you get herp power?

By limiting the amount of smilies that you use in posts. ;)

Actually, the snake fairy watches us all. When you do something worthy of recognition, she comes to your room, in the middle of the night, and leaves points under your pillow as a reward. Oh, and if you're really good you get a secret corn club decoder ring that can be used to decipher a special message in the monthly club newsletter! :santa:

waitaminit!!! We get a monthly newsletter???? Oh yeah, I get that!! Man Cav, have I missed your humour!!

There's an entire post about the rep power (and possibly the hidden secret X-ray glasses and other stuff..lol) in the "general chit chat" thread.

And here's part of it

Rep Points and Rep Power are confusing with the names being similiar.

You get 1 Rep Power for every 100 posts.

The number of green boxes under your avatar is a representation to everyone, how many rep points you have.

Of course you can check your own rep points in your user cp but you can't look in anyone else's, hence the little green boxes.

You also gain Rep Power from time spent here. If you look around, you'll see people that haven't posted in ages or don't have too many posts but they have good Rep Power level...look at the date they joined, in this case it's ususally a member from early on in CS.com

I like the rep system personally, it's not a popularity contest it simply shows everyone who has a good reputation in our community.

Rats are fine.
