Why wont she feed?

Rorryy

Anela la la la
I have a baby corn, She ate twice and has balked ever since. She coiles around the pinkie, flexes her jaws and then... nothing!! I remove the pinkie in the mornin' and wait a couple of days. Its been about 14 days since she had a messy feed (she bit the head off and ingested the rest) but no poo. We have left her alone to aclimate but I think her atmosphere may vary too much (70-95} Is that too much of a variation?

That is a pretty large variation. Have you tried feeding it a bloody pinky? The smell of blood and brain.. usually helps when they won't eat. Hope I was atleast somewhat of a help, I know I wasn't much haha, sorry.

Wait a longer amount of time before offering her another pinkie. Every few days is oftian enough for her to refuse just on the knowledge that she'll be getting another chance at a meal very soon.

Wait a week or so, maybe a bit longer. Then offer her the bloddy pinky as Chris mentioned.

Also.. you say she bit off the head of a pinkie?? She could be refusing if the pinkies are too large for her. Is she quite small??? If so try feeding just the head of a pinkie. She might find this a bit less indimidating, and at least you'll get her eating. After she's taken heads pretty consistantly then mover her back up to pinks

good luck

Thanx for the advice, I think I'll try waiting longer and offering 1/2 a pinkie. I don't want to wait too long as it has already been about 2wks since she ate last. Also I didn't find any poo after the last feed. My boyfriend thinks I just missed it and it absorbed into the substrate. I guess it's possible but do you think she may be impacted?
