Will he ever shed?

Ok- I know, I'm probably overreacting since this is my first baby cornsnake but the little guy just won't shed. I swear he has been shedding for weeks! I thought he was duller and possibly in blue a few weeks ago, but Saturday his eyes were really cloudy and he was really pale. By Sunday, eyes were clear again and his color seemed brighter-ish. Today is Tuesday and he still has not shed. He'll probably shed now since I posted this. But seriously, how long after he is blue should he shed?

After they go opaque and then clear up again, it can be a few days to more than a week, until they slough off their old skin. I think you should give it a few more days. As long as the humidity is good, then I don't think you will have any problems.

My snake took 5 days to shed last time...I was like you though, I thought the skin was burried under the substrate :D

Don't worry, shedding can take a while. One of my young, healthy corns didn't shed till almost 2 weeks after showing signs, yet my old grey banded king shed the day after it showed signs. I wonder if this could be affected by how much they eat right before they show signs?

I had the same problem! I just decided to be patient and then one morning there was a lovely shed skin waiting for me. I think the moist hide box I gave him did the trick. :}

And on a totally unrelated note, A7X is my favorite band. You have good tastes, jcshayden. :D

Just be patient...my corn snakes I think take longer then they should sometimes as well but eventually you will wake up to a fresh shed snake and be relieved and happy. Every time my snakes go into shed I can't wait for them to do so cause I love the way they feel and look right after their old skin comes off. They are always so smooth and feel soft to me and the colors are more vivid and deep or bright depending on what the colors are. But they come out like brand new snakes. They are always so gorgeous.
