Window A/C Harmful?

Now, this is a weird question. But I just want to make sure. The central air in my house went out a while ago and we switched to window units.

The air vents upward so it doesn't seem to make very much of a difference in my cage temperature, but I was wondering if there are any sort of chemicals or byproducts that I should be worried out? Just near that window is the best and safest place for the cage, but I'm still concerned about the AC.

I would think that if the AC gave off harmful byproducts that that would have warnings saying not to place it above one's bed, for example. I have seen no such warnings.

I've researched this and have come up with -nothing-.

Has anybody else had to deal with a window unit and a snake at the same time?

If it's giving off harmful by products then I would also be concerned for your health as well!! However, I imagine that it's just cold air, and nothing to be worried about. I might only be concerned that if it's blowing directly on or near a cage it might cause some localized loss of humidity, but other than that nothing to worry about.

That's what I thought, too! My temperature seems fine and I have a humidity gauge on my thermometer than ranges between 40-50 percent, so I'm not too worried. Thanks for the reply!

Nothing harmful comes out of an AC unit unless the refridgerant is leaking out. Even then, I'm not sure it's a big health issue. You would know if you had a refridgerant leak because the unit would stop cooling the air.

Awesome! I was hoping I wouldn't have to move my cage because it's in the best spot I could think of right now!

Thanks for your help! :D

I have not read anything about snakes being overly sensitive to a lot of household items. Not like birds. Pretty much everything in a house is toxic to birds and I've never heard anyone saying that A/Cs are dangerous for them. So probably if they're safe for parrots they're safe for snakes. Ha. :)
