Mice! They taste so nice!
Instead of going to sleep this morning after my night shift, I went to get this little okeetee girl. 12g of thick-bordered loveliness, it was her feeding day today and she has eaten and settled

I love the names you come up with... You can name the new ball pythons okie dokie :)

thanks, she was part of a job lot just in at the shop, no details on hatch date or original breeder because the owner on the phone arranging his Daytona trip, but she was the darkest of the 3 okeetees there. The bright little spots of background colour aren't as extreme as on some of the hatchlings I've seen on here, but the borders do look thick enough for the lookeetee name. I can't wait to see how she develops.
And.........now I know there'll be babies fresh from Daytona in the shop soon, and have asked for a granite to be brought back for me, so fingers crossed....

Nellie's second feed, Stupid shop had stinky pinks, (like they'd defrosted and been refrozen) so she had 1/2 a peach instead

Still not nearly as bright as some of the okeetee phase babies I've seen on here, I've told Nellie she's got to pull her socks up

:roflmao:

You'll have to update when she's freshly shed. She looks brighter in some of the earlier photos in the thread, and that shouldn't be the case. Maybe she just needs a new coat of paint and some good lighting. :)

In real life she really isn't showing impressive orange background yet. At least I can console myself that can still develop, and her borders are nice and thick. Maybe I should tell her I'll change her status to 'normal' if she don't colour up soon :grin01:

Hmmm. I'd expect the orange "dots" between her saddles to be brighter if she was going to really orange-out significantly. Who knows? But you're a Brit, so you don't have to settle for the term "normal". You can call her a "Carolina"! ;)

I'd agree that the orange dots are signs of those that will "orange out"

My tiny 9/06 Abbotts Okeetee Hatchling.... (his back anyway)

Ok Lore- you're showing off! :grin01:
After Nellie has digested this meal I'll show her what she's aiming for, and the threat of normal is still hanging over her!

Yeah right, try to make up now.................. :crazy02: I'm definately showing Nellie this thread in a few days, I'll point her towards your pic and have strong words with her! She is due to shed next week I think, maybe I'll whisper 'normal' at her to encourage her
