Woah Nellie!

I'm not really sure what's going on with Nellie. I absolutely love her borders, but if anything her true ground-colour is looking yellow-ish now near her head, and still sort of a beige/brown further along towards her tail. These next pictures are pretty close to how she looks in artificial light, when she's not digesting I'll try for some outdoor shots to see how they come out

I actually really like her look Janine. Although okees are generally defined by their colours I think shes stunning. Miami okee :p

Actually she's getting more yellow, instead of that deep red, so at least she might not stay yucky brown

Thanks George. I do love Nellie, but she's put to shame by the colouring on my normal girl, Calamity. Now if I could combine the two snakes borders and colours, I'd have no complaints

Oh lord I really do need to sleep soon  forgot to say, she's called Nellie Cashman, to continue the rootin' tootin' western theme!
Good lookin' lil' Missy ya got thar, pardner!

(The disconnect between a techno-lovin', club-hoppin' Brit and snakes with the names of "Nellie" and "Skeeter" simply ROCKS!)

regards,
country

Freshly shed lookatee, Nellie is getting huge now

She is pretty! And good sized, too! Did you more or less follow the Munson plan?

I know there's no hard and fast rule of thumb on growth rates, but my 6 yr old keeps asking how big Vern (and now the other 4) will be next summer. My only answer is "bigger than she is now" which has lost it's humor factor on him. By the way, as an aside to my aside, do you find that females trend a bit larger than males, or is that a crapshoot, too?

Beautiful girl!

Not really, she wouldn't bump from 2 peaches a week until August, by which time she was 150 grams. Since then she's had 1 small adult a week and has just grown like crazy.
So in her first year she grew from 12 to 150 grams, which is about average for my snakes. (it helps that she's never refused a meal, just didn't want adults.
In comparison, Calamity, who is a year older and often refuses or will only take live peach fuzzies is still only 145 grams)
