So I have two different hides for my snake. One is heated the other is not. He used to spend most of his time inside the heated cave, but ever since I cleaned his cage the first time he did not go in it for about two weeks at all. In the last week he has been in it twice but only for a short time as far as I can tell. I checked the UT heating pad. Nothing seems to be wrong with it, it's the same temp it was when I got him. Could my room just be to warm or is it something else??

I would def do as advised and check your temps. Make sure you are controlling the temp. some how! and using at least 1-2 methods of checking the temps at all times! ( i use two digital thermometers) Also keep in mind, most of the time the heat is needed for digestion. I have a good number of my snakes in the warm hide only after eating then its back to under the cool side.

Most of mine spend their time on the cool side. In my gang, the initial behaviour you describe would be unusual. The current behaviour would be more as I'd expect it. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe offer another hide on the warm side (can just be a small cardboard box or tube - doesn't have to be fancy) to give him a choice, but otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
