wooden viv help

xerxes

addict
alright so i'm typing this from the woodshop computer at school. i just finished my first project and i need to design and build a second project by the end of this year. i thought it'd be kind of cool to make xerxes a new viv so he could have more room. i was wondering if anyone hade any nice templates or demensions or anything. what would i all need for it to be a good viv?

xerxes is five feet long, what would be a good size for the viv to be?

Blueapple - I'm not getting the menu on the left side of your website anymore.

BTW - I plan to try building a rack like yours in the not-to-distant future.

alright so does anyone know what a good size would be for a five foot snake? right now ive got him in a 3'long X 1'wide X 1'4"long. how long/tall/wide do you think i should use?

My 4.5' corn is in a 36"wide x 24"deep x 18"tall cage and he has bunches of extra space. He uses the entire cage though and really seems to thrive in it.

That's a pretty standard size for an adult Corn.

But let's face it, if you're going to build your own - you can go nuts!

My favourite viv is one that a friend built me from melamine, that I designed myself (well OK, I scribbled a sketch of it with some rough measurements). Its 4 feet long, 18 inches wide and 3 feet high, with two shelves at different levels for climbing about. Plenty of room for loads of hides, branches, plastic foliage etc.

If you have the confidence in your woodworking ability, the sky's the limit.
