WOOOT BARRACK OBAMA

"followers" then look to the Crusades etc...many more died...

I use that example a lot, so I hate to be the one to point out that the Christians were being kicked off of their lands and killed. It was kinda a fight back or get wiped out. Sure, they may have went over-zealous there, but it isn't like you can claim there was NO provocation!

Ricky, I offer you the best advice you will ever read when arguing online: "Your" = possessive as in "your feet stink." When saying "You are," you use a contraction, such as "You're naive about the world around you, go pour dirt in a gas tank."
Come on, if you want to dish out your points without taking any regard to someone elses than just go write it down on a piece of paper instead. You made some strange claims, and I tried to make my point. Not once did I criticize you, and I only directed my responses to the topic you addressed. Naive is a stretch, and if you can't take someones response, and a fair one at that, than don't bother posting. I'm not going to respond to you with contrite remarks, because your going to take to an un-necassary level, but at least make your points as factual as possible, and don't get petty when someone dis-agrees. There's no need for that here!.

Ummmm, it doesn't sound like you researched the issue very well. How does his administrations actions that lean towards a socialistic-like government have NOTHING to do with his political agenda? My question is, do you think I'm a complete idiot to think he isn't doing what he is doing, have you not looked at his actions/agenda, or have you never looked up the definition of socialism. It has to be one of those since your post is as preposterous as saying, "The fact that a catfish is an aquatic species has nothing to do with the fact that it is usually found in freshwater!"
New rule; no being condescending. Myself included, because we've become a micro-cosm of how all dis-agreeing folk behave, and if we can't make polite points to express our views than who will. If anyone here has a problem with Obama, fine. If anyone here approves of Obama, fine. It's bad enough threads like these become stale-mates, and this is not how people should debate. Even though it may seem like we're all just an Avatar and some rep points to one another, the fact is we're all real people, and if someone posts their view, either dis-agree with the point or leave it at that. Most things that get quoted are irrelevant to discuss, and I would love it if these threads didn't get so mucked up in swill. Their interesting discussions, but they get foul quick, because the next person to post is always trying to 1 up the other person by pushing their buttons!.

Dude, I'm not trying to be petty, but you KEEP posting "Your" instead of "you're", "Than" instead of "then" and hyphenating when it's not needed. And that's just in your last post. I'm not busting stones here, you will be taken more seriously if you spell properly. I'll discuss the topic happily, but you HAVE to type like you know the English language, dude. I'm not calling you out on comma versus semicolon here.

OK, I forgive you for behaving that way. Just don't let it happen again. If you are important enough to make rules on this site, then maybe you ARE better than me and your actions were justified. Hmmmm, that's something we all need to think about, Micheal. I mean, Ricky.

The Koran in no way turns good people bad. Thats just how some people see it!.

Sure it does. So does the Bible. Both books provide support for a whole bunch of crazy, antiquated ideas that civilization has partially evolved beyond. You like slavery? You can find support in either. You like Polygyny? The support is there too. You like to smite those who think differently from you? That's there too. On their own, most modern people would probably come to decent conclusions regarding questions of morals and ethics. But you can skip all that deliberation if you only have some ancient text that supports what you want to believe without exerting all that effort on determining what's really right or wrong. I think that's bad.

To put it back on topic of snakes,

You can skip all that deliberation if you only have some ancient post from some newbie that supports what you want to believe about the best way to maintain your new pet snake

Hey, I bet there is some hidden reference to human nature here, but I'm too lazy to look for it. ;)

Your absolutely right (ya, Elrojo, I spelled it as "Your"; whatchu gon do foo, cause you be tickin me off)!. I guess my point is that all religions are an equal opportunity corruptor, and they both make a whole lot of good in people, and a whole lot of crazy. Maybe the crazy is the dominant trait, but it can be found on both sides. By the way, thank you for posting something insightful, and I respect your opinion. I even very much agree with it!.

Just ignore you like I had been doing, and clearly should have kept doing. My previous post was sincere. I made an unnecessary jab in my example and I apologize, but the next time you get in a debate with someone who types like a Connecticut chimp, just remember this discussion.

Hah! You may be onto something there, KJ. If only we could blame so many of the world's problems on incompatible snake-husbandry theory! :grin01:

I think the moderator needs to fix the info under some of the names here, a couple of the displayed ages seem to be a bit too high.

And the locations, too! NH is supposed to be "Live free or die," right?

Ba-dum-dum-psssh!

Hey! That's a Connecticut bonobo to you! :grin01:

(I don't even know if you were referring to me, or if I misunderstood, Chip. No hard feelings anyway. ;) )

You'll have to give me more clues. I think Ricky was a guy who was suspended here some time ago, but I think that's over. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I don't care that much. I hung up my "Columbo" hat, and now I'm wearing my "Otis from Maybury" hat. If you know what I'm talking about, that should verify both of our ages. ;)

I know them both, so I am officially the age I say I am! Columbo had the lazy eye and Otis was the Mayberry drunk. Now I'm tryin' to remember the name of the guy who threw rocks.

No clue! I've heard of Columbo, but no Otis. Is he older than Matlock?
