Hey Everyone!!

Umm... just thought I'd go through the normal introductory banter. My name is Scott. I'm 31 years old and I live in a city... umm... town... in Minnesota just outside of the metro area of Minneapolis. Another member over at The Venom List forum suggested this forum for cornsnake info... I've done enough reading to know they're fairly good for the novice snake keeper. I don't have *much* experience in that area... I had a Tokay Gecko that passed away a few years ago but have been concentrating my efforts on my tarantulas (I've got 13 spiders right now...) :)

But anyway, I'm really wanting to get a cornsnake... their docile temperment, good eating habit and plain 'ol cool factor has me intrigued. I've done a bit of searching on the 'net and found so many various morphs and cross breeds that it is mind-boggling... yet the complexity of the patterns and colors has kept me glued to the computer screen for the last day or two. :eek1:

So yeah... if you don't mind, I'm just gonna snoop around and do some reading here on the forum!

I got my first addition today from Twin Cities Reptiles in St. Paul, MN. Decent selection, good customer service, excellent info, etc, etc.

Here's my new Ghost... he's been probed so I was able to obtain records that he is a male and also his previous feeding regimen/schedule

* here's his enclosure. 5-gal. tank for now with screened top and four lockable clips to insure he doesn't get out. aspen shavings, water dish, hiding spot... pretty self-explanatory. I didn't buy him a "heat" lamp since he'll be upstairs in my "spider room" where the thermostat is digitally regulated to be 80 degrees Farenheit during the day and dips down to 76 degrees at night *

Welcome Scott,

He's a pretty little one, well done. He should grow up to show some lovely apricot tones. I like ghosts, I have 3 (a male and 2 females) but they're not my focus, so I think I'm going to sell the older female after I breed her this season. I'm sure you're little guy will be very happy in his little tank for now. Once he is about as long as the tanks horizontal diagonal you can look into a bigger home. A tip that might help him feel a little more cozy is to perhaps block off 2 or 3 of the sides to help him feel less exposed or to dump a handful of artificial ivy in there for him to climb through.
