Yet ANOTHER Shed Thread

Bartholomew

Big Brotha Bart
You all are probably sick of all these threads about snakes shedding and stuff.
Well, this just popped up to mind. Comes with a little backup also.
So my snake, Bartholomew, is in the late shedding process. He Went blue on Sunday (10/24) , He went in complete blue late Monday, early Tuesday. Stayed blue the whole Wednesday and cleared up on mid Thurday
(sorry for all the 'mid, early, late' I'm trying to be as specific as I can)
Now he is clear. But he still hasnt shed. I was expecting a shed on Saturday (he usually sheds at night) But he is taking to long to actually Shed So here's my question. Does the shedding process take longer as the snake gets older? My little guy has been growing like weeds, and this is the first time that he's taken so long to shed.
Comments? Thanks in advance :D

I asked the same question a while back & was told...yes, the older & bigger they get the longer it can take. Some snakes can take up to 2 wks to shed! Can u believe it???

Come to think of it, yes... that does seem to be the case! My babies all shed within 5-7 days, but the larger adults can easily take 10+ days. I had one adult Spotted Python take two weeks, since he was also fighting off a mite infestation (came with them) at the time. :(

Thats interesting. Well, I'm happy to say he shed on Monday. It wasnt complete :/
He got all of it off, but it came off in two peices. First incomplete shed he's ever had (as far as I know)...

Gypsy tends to take a week or two once she is out of blue. I never write down exactly how long it takes, so that is just a rough estimate.
